EFCC INVITE OBANIKORO SONS FOR INTERROGATION


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has written to formally invite the sons of a former minister of state for defence, Musiliu Obanikoro for interrogation.

The letters of invitation to Babajide and Gbolahan Obanikoro, came barely 3 days after the anti-graft outfit raided and took possession of the properties owned by the Obanikoros in Ikoyi.

The letter, which was signed by Kanu Idagu on behalf of the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, and addressed to the duo read:-



Mr Musiliu Obanikoro and Sons; Jide and Gbolahan

“This commission is investigating a case in which your name featured prominently.

“In view of the above, you’re requested to kindly report for an interview with the undersigned.”

The brothers are expected to appear before Hamza Abdulahi, an EFCC investigator, on June 22, 2016, by 10:00 a.m. at 30A Harper Crescent, Zone 7, Abuja.

It would be recalled on Thursday, about 20 officials of the EFCC, stormed their premises situated at 10 Mojisola Onikoyi Street, by Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos and took away several items.

It is also gathered that operatives raided Mr. Obanikoro’s property in Abuja on Thursday and Friday.

Stolen Millions: Saraki Recovers N52 Million From His Accountant
Senate President Bukola Saraki is conniving with the Nigerian Immigration Service to deport members of his domestic staff reportedly involved in the theft of N300m in his bedroom in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Last weekend the Kwara Police Command recovered N52m from one “Alhaji Ishmail,” reported to be Saraki’s domestic accountant.

The police investigators have so far refused to disclose their findings concerning the theft of the huge sum of money, in two tranches, last month.

A police source, however, told Saharareporters that they have arrested several persons below over the theft.

The names of the suspects were given as Isaac Nuhu, Oyeniyi Oluwatoyin, Johnson Oluwafemi, Ayoko Ohibu, Tunde Abolade, Buhari Mufutau, Sunday Dalumo, Abel Gbewa, Ajani Bamidele. Ojo Makonde, Femi Adebayo, Haruan Sheidu, Alimi Yinusa, Muhammed Gambari, Emile Abayomi, Shola Owolabi, Nathaniel Ahouangnimon, Akinboboye, Cletus and Achwuche.

Nationals of Benin Republic on the list are being deported by the NIS at the instance of Mr. Saraki


69 Air Passengers Escape Death As Plane Catches Fire

Jet Airways airlines, on Wednesday, said its passenger plane, Flight 9W 2839, with 69 people on board, made an emergency landing after it caught fire soon after taking off from Bengaluru airport in southern India.

It said in a statement that the private airlines operating domestic flight headed to neighbouring city of Mangalore from Bengaluru but
returned to the airport minutes after it took off after smoke was detected in its cabin.

“Flight 9W 2839, with 65 passengers and four crew members aboard, took off from Bengaluru airport at 10 a.m. (local time) and returned at 10.20 a.m. (local time).

It, however, said there was no casualty, as all passengers and crew members were safe.

“The precautionary evacuation of the passengers and crew was carried out immediately on landing. All 64 passengers and four crew members are safe,” it said.

An Indian aviation official said Bengaluru airport was closed briefly for landing and take-off in the morning due to the emergency landing by the Jet Airways flight.

The official also said that a probe had been ordered into the incident.

One morning

Braxton and Hollis had jobs at a California cotton mill. One morning the foreman came along and found Braxton reading a letter to his coworker. 
 'Hey,' cried the foreman, 'what kind a horseplay you two guys up to?' 
 'Hollis got a letter from his girlfriend,' explained Braxton, 'but he can't read; so Ah'm readin' the letter for him.' 
 'How come you got the cotton in your ears?' 
 'Hollis don't want me to hear what his girlfriend writ to him!'
